Another car from Maranello, the 1953 340/375 Belinetta Competizione was sold by RM Auctions in Italy for $12,812,800 and has a glittering motorsport history. The chassis up for auction was one of three to compete at Le Mans in 1953, was driven by three world champions – Mike Hawthorn, Alberto Ascari and Nino Farina – and competed in several other high-profile races like the 24 Hours of Spa and the 12 Hours of Pescara. It spent much of its post-racing life in the USA but was transported to the UK in 1999.
