14. Maserati Birdcage 75th
The Maserati Birdcage 75th, a concept car created and designed by a Pininfarina design team, was first introduced at the 2005 Geneva Auto Show. It was named to honor both the classic Maserati Birdcages of the 1960s and Pininfarina’s 75th anniversary. The Birdcage 75th shares elements with the Maserati MC12 GT1 race car like the engine, for instance. It’s powered by the Ferrari/Maserati F140 V12 engine which has been customized for the Birdcage and produces around 700 horsepower. The six-month production and design process of the car was documented and created into the film “Sleek Dreams.” If brought to reality, the driver would have visibility problems and a bit of a tough time getting in as the car has no doors. Instead, the bubble canopy can be raised for entrance.
