This bike may be known because of a famous scene from the film “The Great Escape” where Steve McQueen jumps over a fence of a prisoner war camp using the Desert Racer. This was a hand-built motorcycle in Britain, and only 300 were produced. Steve McQueen himself has quoted “This rig is the best handling bike I’ve ever owned.” The motor installed in this one was a powerful 650cc TR6 which could take you right away to 100 mph.
